Athens Area Humane Society is a nonprofit animal rescue that provides affordable vet services, pet food assistance, and adoption services to the Athens area’s furriest residents.

After years of serving their community, Athens Area Humane Society wanted to revitalize their brand and reconnect with the digital world. They knew they needed a website partner committed to supporting nonprofits and excited about their bold, new brand colors and their wonderful pet-focused cause.

Objectives

  • Athens Area Humane Society wanted their website to reflect their newly finished rebrand while reflecting their organization’s vision for the future and their heart for both pets and pet owners.
  • They wanted their new site to be modern, engaging, and user-friendly.
  • They also wanted their new site to integrate with their adoption platform, donation platform, and social media accounts to provide a user-friendly interface for both staff and pet-owners.

Solution

  • To bring the client’s vision to life, our content strategists asked deep questions to better understand Athens Area Humane’s mission, services, and which programs were top growth priorities for the organization. We structured the site’s content accordingly, highlighting the nonprofit’s commitment to uniting pets with loving homes as well as more simply showcasing their ongoing support services for pets owners.
  • Athens Area Humane wanted its site to be modern, engaging, and user-friendly. As our content strategists created the digital “voice” of the nonprofit, they sought to balance professionalism with the approachable nature of the new brand. Embracing the internet and their inner pet-lover, our strategists channeled a fun, user-friendly tone throughout the site. The language, colors, images, and iconography used on the site are all intentionally quirky, bold, vibrant, and clever—appealing to the growing internet pet culture and, in turn, Athens Area Humane’s target audience.
  • Finally, it was crucial that the new site integrate smoothly with Athens Area Humane’s existing software. The finished product features various integrations, including an on-page pet finder where potential pet parents can sort and filter based on breed and age, to an easily accessible online donation platform that is styled to match the organization’s brand. Users can access the information they need with ease and efficiency.
  • The result of the project is a bold, creative, quirky, and colorful site that emphasizes how the Athens Area Humane Society impacts their community and makes the lives of their animals better.
