The city of Mount Pleasant is known for its proximity to Charleston, its booming business climate, and for anchoring business success across the Lowcountry. With proximity to an international airport, access to the largest container terminal in the state, and plenty of access points to long-term impact development zones, Mount Pleasant is the ideal place to grow a business. To communicate that value, however, Mount Pleasant needed a website that highlighted all the area has to offer for business growth in the Lowcountry.

The Mount Pleasant Economic Development Team needed a website that represented the Town of Mount Pleasant and its surrounding areas online while also speaking effectively to their target audiences and ultimately fueling the growth of their business climate.
”Engenius was a pleasure to work with on the Mount Pleasant Made site. They understood what we were trying to convey pretty easily, and they were very easy to work with. They have a talented staff whose creativity really helped us deliver on our end product. Ten out of ten, completely recommend, and I’d work with them again for sure.

Solution
- To effectively showcase Mount Pleasant’s main areas of interest including information technology, life sciences, engineering and architecture, marketing and publishing, and finance and investments, the Engenius team created separate sections highlighting aspects fostering innovation and growth—like demographics and available properties.
- The Engenius team created custom graphics reflective of the Charleston and lowcountry area by featuring the iconic Arthur Ravenel, Jr. Bridge spanning the Cooper River. This graphic is featured on the homepage and throughout the site via the universal footer.Â
- Along with the custom bridge graphic, the Engenius team created a custom map allowing users to easily understand the geography of Mount Pleasant and the surrounding area. This map also includes icons highlighting the key economic development zones, allowing users to easily identify industry growth areas.
- In order to appeal directly to business owners, the Engenius team created a path to resources directly related to business growth. This gives entrepreneurs easy access to demographics, incentives, and partners.
- The new site exhibits an updated design featuring Mount Pleasant’s branding. The Engenius team utilized the same unique shapes in the Mount Pleasant logo throughout the site unifying the graphics and shapes giving the site visual interest without compromising on the ease of finding essential information.
- Following the launch of the website, Engenius hosted a training session for the Mount Pleasant Economic Development team so that the Mount Pleasant team can feel empowered to make their own updates and edits.Â
- As a part of the Mount Pleasant Economic Development monthly support plan, Engenius provides regular maintenance on the back end of their site.Â
- Today, Mount Pleasant Economic Development has a site that accurately reflects growth opportunities for businesses while being easy for users to navigate and easy for the Mount Pleasant team to update.
