The 237 day wait is almost over. The transition from pool parties to tailgates will sweep across all Saturdays in South Carolina. Houses become divided, uniforms are donned, every team is undefeated and chasing the same goal of winning the College Football National Championship (or Super Bowl if that is your thing).
If you can’t tell yet, this coming Saturday is one of our favorite sports day of the year. Nothing gets us more hyped than waking up on a game day, with that fall chill cutting through the morning air, fight song blaring, flipping on the pregame chatter—anticipating kickoff.
Expectations for the entire season go into motion, with one — swift — kick. All this anticipation and hype is what we experience on a much more frequent level. Our website kick-off meetings become our game day openers where all our training and preseason prep work become instinct. This is the very first step in our web design process and much like kicking off a football season, the expectations from both sides will either be met or leave both sides disappointed.
What is a Web Design Kickoff Meeting?
Our kickoff meeting is 100,000 screaming fans of your company rooting for your website to succeed. Ok not quite, but it is a chance for us to garner what makes your business fantastic. If possible, we come to your office to ask a list of questions to get to know more about who you are, what you do, who your customers are, and what results you are looking for.
Some common questions we ask are:
- How would you describe your company to a friend?
- What would your clients say are the best things about working with you?
- Do you have a preferred client group/who among these is your ideal client?
- What is the primary action you want potential customers to take?
- Any websites you really like? Specifically, what do you like about those websites?
Why We Do It
You have come to us with a need, and now we want to make sure we fully understand both your business and your expectations so we can “Win the Natty,” by delivering what you want in a way that will make sense to your customers.
We don’t have any tricks or games that we are masquerading as expertise, we really just want to get to the bottom of what makes your company tick so we can portray that well online.
Like kicking off a football game, there is typically a lot of excitement for both teams in getting the project started. Making sure we are starting with a great game plan will make the project flow much smoother and create a great end product.
Game Day anticipation is great, but once that ball is kicked the real work starts, the strategy comes into play, and you have to figure out how to win together. So fire up the grill and get your favorite snack — it’s time to kick off!
